Miss Culver's First Grade News
December 10, 2015
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Math: This week began Topic 8. We practiced identifying teen numbers as "10 and ___ more". We also reviewed skip counting by 10's. We also practiced counting on using a 100 chart.
Reader's Workshop: This week we continued our character unit. We made our voices sound like the characters in our books to bring them to life. We also discussed how characters feelings change in books.
Writer's Workshop: This week we worked on our narrative writing. We practiced using transition words and found different ways to end a story. We are also working on describing the characters in our stories.
Science: We began force and motion learning how things move and how sounds are made. We celebrated another Sci-Friday this week. Ask your student about our force and motion experiment!
