Student Council News
Volunteer Clearances
Parents who plan to serve as field trip chaperones and/or volunteers at school must have current clearances on file with the school district. For additional information on clearances, including all related links, please visit the district web page. Volunteer clearances need to be uploaded into App-Garden.
Our new system allows registration for multiple schools at once, volunteers will be able to identify activities they would like to participate in when volunteering, and will allow users to track the number of hours they volunteer using this new service.
Please file for your clearances ASAP so that they are in place when needed. Thank you.
Morning Drop Off/Dismissal Pick Up Safety
Any student that is being dropped off and/or picked up by car should be dropped off and/or picked up on the playground area. Please do not drop off students at the bus port or the Oxford Valley Road side of the school. If you wish, parents may park in a parking spot and walk their children to the front doors.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Author Visit
Local children’s author Chrysa Smith visited with the young writers in kindergarten through second grade this past month to share her love for writing. She revealed her books have been inspired by events that have happened to her in her everyday life---her life with poodles and her gardening incompetence. Chrysa Smith charmed the boys and girls with a reading of one of her stories. Following this, Ms. Smith challenged the children to create a story using the writing technique of asking the question “What if …?” A delightful tale was crafted by the imaginative audience following that simple question.
Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring this worthwhile event!
