NEWS FROM THE HEADS
Welcome to the first bulletin of the year and it has been wonderful to see the school bursting with life and energy again. The cardboard boxes have been emptied, painters ladders removed and computers restored (well nearly).

We are only two days into the new term and already the girls have been hard at work producing many things to be proud of. In Reception, the girls have settled in well and were quick to discover the role play area.

PARKING
A reminder please to all parents who park in the vicinity of our school to be respectful of our neighbours when dropping off and collecting your children. Can we particularly request that you do not park across or reverse into our neighbour's driveways or the entrance to Old College Gardens, as access is required at all times.

G7 have had their school photo taken - if you wish to order this please return the form and payment to the office by Friday 16 September.
If parents still wish to order the whole school photo taken in the Summer Term please order direct from Tempest - click here for their website - the password is burgundy. A reference number is not required.

LIBRARY Girls’ Olympic Summer Reading Challenge
Don’t forget to send us your entry for the Reading Challenge! There is still time to send a photograph of yourself reading a book during the summer break to: library @clairescourt.net or bring your printed-out photographs into the Junior or Senior Library. Just include your name, class, location and the title of the book you read. (Please note this new email address).
Look out for the full display of all the reading pictures in the Atrium… and see which House has won the challenge!
LIBRARY Roald Dahl 100
We’re celebrating 100 years since the birth of one of the world’s greatest storytellers. It’s going to be more giant than James’s peach, more enormous than a crocodile and more marvellous than George’s medicine! Come to the Junior Library next week and take the 100 Challenge… can you write 100 words about a Roald Dahl story or character?!!
DRAMA
JUNIOR GIRLS
Tuesday 13 September - G3 LAMDA lessons start during lesson time with all girls having a session on public speaking to boost confidence/self-esteem. The girls will have structured lessons during the Autumn Term which leads to LAMDA examinations for those wishing to take the exam.
Wednesday 14 September - Calling ALL G10 & G11 please meet in The Chapel after school to discuss plans. Letters on the way home.
SPORT
Swim Goggles GR - G9 only
If you wish your daughter to wear goggles during her swimming lesson please complete this form and return to the School Office by Friday 16 September.
Junior Girls
GR - G6 will require their swim kit, PE/games kit and hockey kit.
Senior Girls
G7 - G9 will be swimming during their PE lessons so please remember swim kit. Hockey and netball kit are also required for games.
Barcelona Hockey Tour - letter should be going home this week for final payment.

Monday 12 September - G3-6 Netball & hockey taster session
Tuesday 13 September - G7 hockey taster session (5.10pm finish, girls can still catch the bus home) for new & existing players
Wednesday 14 September - U18 hockey match v LP, away, 1.15pm meet in atrium, 4.45pm return to school
Wednesday 14 September - G7 netball taster session (5.10pm finish, girls can still catch the bus home) for new & existing players
Thursday 15 September - GR-G7 tennis taster session, pick up at 5pm (or catch the bus home) for new and existing players
Saturday 17 September - U14 netball tournament, St Mary's 1.30pm start
