July 2022

From Mrs. Ament's Desk

Dear Sandalwood Family,

Happy Summer and 4th of July! At Sandalwood we are very busy planning the 2022-2023 school year. It's going to be another year of learning and fun! This is a reminder to keep up with your Summer Express Challenge! Your child should be doing 2 pages per weekday. Prevent the summer slide AND earn an invitation to a special party in the Fall! We look forward to seeing everyone at our Monthly Food Bank/Thrift Store and Bingo Night in July as we continue to build relationships in the summer! We also will have the BCPL Mobile Law Van providing free legal advice in July! Finally, the library will be open from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. every Thursday in July for students to check out books and to participate in the BCPL Summer Reading program. See below for all of the details on our exciting July at Sandalwood!

Love,

Mrs. Ament

Community Schools Symposium

Would you like to celebrate Sandalwood as a Community School at the Symposium? On August 2nd, the Y of Central Md will be hosting the first Community School Symposium as part of their capacity-building and technical assistance work in Baltimore County.

This is an opportunity to bring stakeholders (educators, students, parents, and community members –– YOU!) together to better understand the Community School strategy in the county and how you can get engaged.

The theme is "Strengthening Communities Together."
