English: Now that the research is (mostly) done, the students will organize the information and create rough drafts of their social studies projects this week.
Science: This week we are preparing for our presentations to the third grade. We have made trading cards of our sea creatures and are making keynote slide shows on the iPads to share.
Reading: The island adventure continues! SPOILER ALERT! Karana is on her own on the Island of the Blue Dolphins and is trying to survive the dangers of the island and the loneliness and desperation that comes from being without Ramo.
Social Studies: California History Project: Update for Parents
Your child should be finishing up any notes today in class. Some may need to finish up at home tonight. They should have selected a focus for their independent project and should begin working on their project at home. I will be checking in with each child this week and they will fill out an information/inventory sheet about their project. If you run into any questions, please have your child write down the question to ask in class the next day. Rough drafts begin this week!
Spelling/Writing: Lesson 24 words; test on Friday, May 13.. You can find a printable copy of the list on the 4th grade page of the MJS website.

The End of the Easter Season
This Sunday brings the celebration of the Easter Season to a close. Pentecost is the celebration of the Holy Spirit coming to the Apostles. The Spirit gave them courage to go out and proclaim the word of God. The Holy Spirit can give us courage, too, when we need it.
