WolfPack Weekly
10/2/2020
Dear Families,
As we reflect on our time together in Distance Learning, I’m reminded that although our school buildings are closed, school is still very much in session. This week, I enjoyed popping into our classrooms to see students learning and actively participating. It’s beautiful to see the ways our students are beginning to adapt to our virtual learning classrooms and find ways to express themselves and experience moments of joyful learning!
We are beginning to collect instructional materials and school supplies for our next distribution. We want to further support you by providing specific items for your child. We will keep you informed with more details as we plan for our next drive through distribution in at the end of October. Thank you for your support and partnership. While distance learning has created challenges for us all, we continue to be incredibly grateful for the strength of this amazing community and your partnership as we work together in service of our students.
Our quote this week is from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the pioneering Supreme Court Justice, women's rights activist, and icon has passed away at the age of 87 from complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Her words live on to inspire future generations.
"Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time." "Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you." "Women will have achieved true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation."
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Please take a moment to thank a teacher for their tremendous effort and hard work! Our teachers have taken on the enormous challenge of meeting the needs of our Wolfpack during Distance Learning. Let's take a moment and show them some appreciation!

Virtual Parent Conferences will be held the week of Oct. 5th through Oct. 9th.
These conferences will be held via Zoom. All meetings should work on laptops, tablets, or phones. Conferences to be conducted with students and parents. Principals and teachers will be sending specific details for each section of the school.
Coffee with the Principal is an opportunity to hear about school-related topics and ask questions. We will post any information that comes up during the Coffee on our Wolfpack Weekly Newsletter for those who cannot make it.
Remembering The Notorious RBG
Ruth Bader Ginsberg
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died on September 18, 2020 having served the court for 27 years. At the time she was only the second woman appointed to the court. Throughout her long and esteemed career she fought for gender equality for both men and women.
In the 1970s she served as the director of the Women’s Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)and argued cases that discriminated against people on the basis of their sex.
Before 1974 a woman could not get a credit card, mortgage or even a bank account without a man. Ruth Bader Ginsberg paved the way for the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 which gave women these basic rights.
In 1975 Ruth Bader fought for the right of widowers to receive surviving spouse benefits from social security. Before this case only women who lost their husbands would be granted these benefits, but husbands who lost their wives would not.
She was highly respected and highly regarded as a leader that changed lives for the better.
Thank you Ruth Bader Ginsberg, may your memory be a blessing.
