Lexington/Richland 5 Career Expo
At the end of last year, this group discussed creating a district wide Career Expo for all students in Lexington/Richland 5 High Schools. On Thursday, November 3rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm this idea became a reality. Over 30 employers participated and each Military Branch was in attendance. Students from Dutch Fork High School, Spring Hill High School, Irmo High School and Chapin High School attended. This was a collaborative effort by each of the Career Specialists at each of the listed high schools. We are also thrilled to work closely with Ms. Sandy Ellisor at the CATE center who is not only the Career Specialist but served as the host site for the event. Employers rated the overall event 89% excellent/very good. Half of the employers responded they plan to hire a student that attended the event. I just wanted to to recognize;
Jennifer Etheredge, Irmo High School
Sandy Ellisor, The Center
Stacey Bruno, Spring Hill High School
Cindy Hawkins, Dutch Fork High School
These ladies are an amazing team to work with. The first EVER D5 Career Expo brought together all D5 students and the community!
