Host Families Needed
- We have a short term opportunity in January, when 10 high school students from our Christian sister school in Korea will visit NCCS during an educational experience trip. The students will arrive on January 12 and need a host home through January 31. During this visit, along with gaining insight of American culture through the homestay, the students will attend 9 days of school at NCCS, tour local businesses, and participate in planned activities with their school. There is a housing stipend ($450) provided to cover expenses of hosting a student.
- There are two 10th grade girls from Japan that will study for 3 months, 1/25-4/16/20 at NCCS. We need two school families to host these girls and provide them with a Christian home during their stay. There is a housing stipend ($2250 for 3 months) paid to host a student. This short term opportunity is a perfect way to learn about another culture and share Jesus.
- If you are interested in hosting and want to complete the application, or have questions, please contact Emily Clark, Business Manager, at emily_clark@ncchristianschool.com or Sherri James at sherri_james@ncchristianschool.com.
ABSENT STUDENT PROCEDURE
Please call or email the office when your child will be coming in late/tardy (after 8:15 am). Be aware that when a student is tardy, a parent must sign them in at the office.
There is a form to complete for a prearranged absence (i.e. vacations), which needs to be turned into the office in advance. The office calls parents for all students who are recorded as absent , and who have not notified the office. Parents may inform a teacher, but also MUST notify the office in the event of an absence. We appreciate your assistance in these procedures to keep our children safe.
Attendance matters for student success in school. A student that is late 10 minutes a day, will miss 30 hours of instruction. It is important that students are at school, on time, ready to learn. Thank you for helping us to start each day with our students, in a positive, ready mindset.
