Important Message from FBMS and MPD
The safety and well-being of our FBMS students and staff members is our first priority. The idea of safety is at the core of the district's mission statement which notes: "Marshfield Public Schools provide a safe, healthy, and collaborative learning environment that fosters respect and responsibility, empowering all to achieve their maximum potential." The FBMS Leadership Team, partnering with the Marshfield Police department, will conduct a random drug search of the school through the use of police canines. The search, which will be unannounced and in the future, is done to ensure our school environment is safe and most conducive to learning. The dogs used are well trained and passive in nature. A similar search was recently conducted at the high school and has been done on a regular basis there for a number of years. The search will occur while students are in classrooms and at no time will the dogs come into contact with students. This is not in response to a problem but rather to continue to send a strong message that drugs will not be tolerated within our school.

8th GRADE PARENTS- CLASS NIGHT PHOTOS by 3/22
- The staff advisers for Student Council are putting together a special tribute video to be shown to eighth grade students at their Class Night dance on Friday, June 7th.
- In school two weeks ago, your child received a flyer to take home that explained to parents what the video is about and how to submit photos of your child for the video.
We are asking that if you choose to have your child participate in the video, that you please do the following:
1) Select up to up to five digital photos of your child throughout the years. (These can be formal or informal photos that show only your child or your child with their friends).
2) Send these photos as attachments (.jpeg, .png, etc.) in an email to FBMSadvisoryteam@gmail.com with your child's name as the subject line.
3) Due to privacy restrictions, your email MUST also include a list of NAMES for ALL of the children shown in EACH picture that you send to us.
The last day to submit photos is Friday, March 22nd!
Student Council thanks you for your help! We look forward to putting this video together and to celebrating our students' accomplishments before they move on to high school. Have a great evening."

FBMS DRAMA WORKING ON PRODUCTION OF "MILL GIRLS"
The play "Mill Girls" brings history vividly to life by showcasing the struggles of young girls during the American industrial revolution of the 1840s. It was during this time that many young women took jobs in New England mills. There girls from dissimilar backgrounds discovered the unique rewards and challenges of factory work. Eventually the girls fight to gain reasonable pay and working conditions. The show will be performed at the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild's Middle School Festival on April 27th.
