It has been a wonderful week with your children, and we have had alot going on! On Tuesday, we had visitors from Japan visit our campus and spend time with Middle School. These students are majoring in Secondary Education in Japan and are part of a cultural exchange program with ULM. They presented to our students, observed classrooms, and ate lunch with our classes.
Our multi-tasking, talented students are working hard. Kudos to all of our kids who have spent long hours after school representing Grace with pride...on the ball field, the tennis court, the track, at dance competition, at the piano or guitar, camping out with the Boy Scouts, volunteering with DeSiard Street Shelter, rescuing pets, running lemonade stands for a cause; the list goes on and on. How blessed we are to be part of a community that loves and supports one another with such volition!
A brief update on our campus security and safety...Yesterday, we toured the facility with Danielle from Martin Communications, two reps from the Ouachita Sheriffs Department as well as Fr. Norman and other members of Grace Church staff and Vestry. We have identified points of weakness and are in the process of prioritizing our "to do" list. It was an informative tour, and let me assure you that both the church and school are very invested in the increased security of our campus and enhanced safety for our children. We will keep you in the loop as we move forward in the plans to upgrade.
Have a happy, safe, and restful Spring Break!
