Laurelton-Pardee News

September 11, 2015

Welcome.

Dear LP Families,

Welcome to this year's first week-end newsletter. I will be in touch with you most every Friday with school related news and updates. I try to keep the information brief and relevant to all. I hope you enjoy.

Our first six days at school have been GREAT! Your kids are doing a wonderful job getting back into the school routine. I have enjoyed meeting them in their classrooms to read a story. Ask them about the "preposterous" story that Mr. Hiley is sharing.

I will email the link to this newsletter each Friday AND post the link to our Twitter feed @LaureltonPardee. I hope you will follow us!

Sincerely,

Lucas Hiley

Principal

iPad Updates

With all students getting iPads, we are doing our very best to field all iPad-related inquiries. Your first attempt to answer questions should be this website: http://www.eastiron.org/ipad/ If that doesn't work, please contact your child's classroom teacher or our school secretary, Lisa Lohrberg.

Main Office Staff Changes

Many of you may have already noticed that Sue Hughes retired from our main office. While we wish her well in retirement, we are excited that Lisa Lohrberg has taken her place as the main office secretary at Laurelton-Pardee. We have hired Jennette Delly to fill the office clerk position formerly held by Lisa. Please join me in welcoming them both to their new positions. We are sure it will be a terrific year!

Cyber Security and Safety Information for Parents

Monroe County Sheriff Officer Chris Harrington, who is currently working as a member of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, will be presenting on Cyber Security for parents of students K-12. He will address the risks of children using the internet, giving specific strategies to parents to lessen the risk that their children will be exposed to inappropriate online behavior. An Irondequoit Police Department officer will also be in attendance to answer questions specific to Irondequoit.

This event will be held at Eastridge High School in the auditorium on Monday, September 21 at 7:00PM. More information will be sent home with your child(ren).
