The Great Barrier Reef is special because of its climate. It has lots of sun shine. The temperature only gets up to 23-24 degrees Celsius. Winter or the'Dry Season' starts in May and ends in October.

The Great Barrier Reef is special because of it's natural features. The reef is home to many marine animals which appear strange but are perfectly adapted to their environment. Hard corals are the stony limestone homes protecting the fragile bodies of around 350 different species of coral polyps.
