News from Eli Terry
A Peek Inside the Week - Dec. 23rd, 2022
Dear Eli Terry Families...
We can't believe that the winter break is here. Our students have made such remarkable progress since the beginning of the school year. Please continue to encourage your children to always do their personal best.
Eli Terry will be closed from Monday, December 26th through Monday, January 2nd. School resumes on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. We hope your holiday and the break are filled with all the people and traditions you love!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students and parents for their continued support. Our school is truly a place filled with immense learning, laughter and joy. The new-year will bring new learning experiences, new challenges and new fun.
We look forward to what lies ahead for us as a community in 2023. Stay safe. Stay well. And we’ll see everyone in the new year!
Mike & Jenn
**Important Reminder**
Early-release Wednesdays will resume with spring conferences on March 22nd and continue through the remainder of the school year.
Celebration Walk
As we shared earlier this month, we believe it's important that the students themselves have an opportunity to reflect on all they've learned, how they've grown, and have the chance to applaud their own progress and that of their peers.
Yesterday students participated in a school-wide "Celebration Walk". They reflected on all they've learned and identified the learning they're most proud of. They created a poster, and with their class, walked around the school sharing it (in a parade of sorts!), to be recognized and acknowledged by their peers and teachers.
This "Celebration Walk" will be a springboard for some goal-setting when we return to school in 2023!
Please see the slideshow below for pictures from our walk, as well as a sampling of students' posters.
PAWSitive Office Referrals and Shout Outs
Let's also celebrate all the members of our ET community who received a community "shout it" this month!
Are you looking for an activity that will allow your child to continue learning and have fun over the break? Then check out Greg Tang’s New Year's Challenge! (tangmath.com/newyears)
During the break, students can go to tangmath.com/newyears to complete the activities on the attached game board.
This is an optional activity. Students who can’t participate will not be penalized in any way. Students who complete the challenge can earn a certificate and a chance to win a prize from the Tang Math Store.
It is fine for students to get help from you or someone else if they need it. They can also move to harder or easier levels of the games to make them more or less challenging.
After your child completes the activity, just sign their sheet and send it back to school with them before January 9th.
Have Fun and Happy New Year!

I know it can be easy to lose sight of all the people that we appreciate, especially during the busy (and sometimes chaotic!) holiday season, but this is exactly the time of year where gratitude is SO important!
