Career Spotlight

Career Spotlight focuses on careers of interest to IDVA students. Each month, Mrs. Edwards will interview a professional from one of these industries with questions from IDVA students.

Career Spotlight: Information Technology

This month we meet Aleana Hernandez. She is a recent graduate from the College of Western Idhao where she studied computer technology. She is currently employed by Scentsy in their IT department as a Systems Analyst. Aleana tells us about her journey to her career and how she manages her dyslexia in the IT profession.

Career Spotlight: Trauma Flight Nurse

This month we meet Amy Neglia. She is currently a Trauma Flight Nurse for St. Lukes. She is a graduate of Lewis-Clark State College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Idaho State University where she recieved her Master of Science in Nursing. Amy has a fascinating career in emergency medicine. She tells us about her journey through college and to where she is today.


Amy also discusses her participation in a joint rescue of a plane crash that made national headlines and had a book written about the accident. The photo to the right is of the actual rescue.

Complete the FAFSA Together!

Starting in January, students and parents will be invited to complete the FAFSA while attending a live session with Mrs. Edwards. She will walk you through the steps while answering any questions that may come up during the process. The FAFSA opens the doors to your future! Don't miss out on college money!

Apply Idaho Deadline is February 15, 2019

Direct Admission letters were sent out to seniors late September. These letters notify students which Idaho colleges and/or universities have accepted them based on their grades and SAT/ACT scores.


You must apply to these colleges/universities prior to the deadline, February 15, 2019, to keep your seat at your chosen school. Apply Idaho Application.
