Values and beliefs:
My family believes in respect and honesty. We believe if you do something wrong and you tell the truth you consequences will not be as bad as if you lie. My family also believes that every member of the family must be respectful at all times.
Communication patters:
My family is from different parts of the country. My dad is from Ohio and my Mom is from Pennsylvania. We don’t use some of the same words as people from the south. For example we say pop instead of soda, we say you guys instead of y’all, and we say
Religion and religious practices:
We are Methodist and we go to Keller United Methodist Church. I’m in youth group and my younger sister goes to Sunday school. My parents go to adult Sunday school also. We celebrate all of the Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter.
Family:
I live with my Mom, Dad, Sister named Meg, and the many pets which we consider family too. I have a huge extended family. On my dad’s side I have a Grandpa and two Grandmas. I also have an aunt and two cousins. On my Mom’s side which is a lot bigger I have a Grandpa and two Grandmas. I also have two aunts, two uncles, and five cousins. I also have five great aunts, two great uncles, and two great great aunts. Most of my family lives in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio.
Traditions and customs:
My family has a lot of traditions. We always get matching pj’s as our Christmas Eve present. We always get an unbirthday present on someone else’s birthday. When it’s your birthday you cut into the cake and make a wish then someone else pulls the knife out. We also eat pork and sauerkraut for good luck on New Years day.
Art, Music, literature
My family loves art. My dad did art all through high school and I take an art class now. My sister likes art too. My family also likes to read. We also have played many different instruments. I’ve played the piano and the cello, my sister has played drums and guitar, and my mom has played the piano and clarinet.
