2022-2023 Back to School with our Officers in Blue Student Supply Pick Up
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Norwayne Elementary School has been fortunate enough to partner with our community and an anonymous donor that would like to assist families in need by providing school supplies for the upcoming year. Together we will be utilizing the Creston Police Department on (Sunday, August 7th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm) where families in the need of support can take a moment to stop and pick out school supplies for the upcoming year. Supply lists are available on the NES website and will be made available on the pickup date as well to ensure families are selecting the correct supplies for the correct grade level. If you are unable to attend the event at the police garage you can still call the water department number and arrange a time to get supplies as well. We are tremendously grateful to be able to provide this opportunity for our families that may be in need of assistance. Thank you for your continued support in helping make Norwayne Elementary the best it can be.

Transportation Department at NES
Bus routes are being finalized as we speak. You can expect a call from your child's bus driver no later than Monday, August 17, 2022. During the phone call you will find out who will be driving the bus, the bus number, and the expected pick up and drop off times. We ask that you remain patient at this time as routes are being developed and as we put our new routing system into use.
The Transportation department would also like to remind you that students are required to be picked up at the same location Monday- Friday and dropped off at the same location Monday- Friday. While a pick up and drop off point may be different, they must remain consistent. Students cannot request to ride to or from school on a different bus with friends/relatives.
Later this month, we will be sending out an email to all parents and guardians regarding our new Stopfinder app. The email will explain everything you need to know. We can't wait to start using this new tool to better communicate with parents/guardians throughout the school year!
If you have any questions, you may reach out to Lori Weinman (Transportation Coordinator) via email (lweinman@norwayne.net) or phone(330-435-1141)

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up for 2022-2023
We now have a year under our belts for our new parent drop off/pick up loop. For those families that are new to the district or new to the drop off/pick up line we ask that you remain patient and calm as we safely get the children in and out of the building.
A few important notes for morning drop off:
- Students being dropped off or riding their bikes will be allowed to enter the building at 8:40 am, as we did last year. They will not be permitted to stand outside and wait for the cafeteria doors to open.
- During the morning drop-off time, when exiting the parking lot, cars are strongly encouraged to make a right-hand turn only. This is something we did last year, and it helped reduce the congestion and improve the flow of traffic.
- We ask that you do not park in the drop-off loop. If you need to park to bring something to the office or walk your child to the door, this needs to occur in the parking spaces. This way, the loop will not become clogged as it is a single-car loop.
A few important notes for parent pick up:
- Pick-up will occur as it has in the past, except for the one-direction loop we will now have.
- We ask parents to remain in their cars as staff will walk students to their cars to ensure safety.
- During pick-up times, cars will only be able to make a right-hand turn when exiting the parking lot. Again this helps with reducing congestion and improving the flow of traffic.
Be Happy!
