Holbrook Weekly Newsletter

Welcoming February with Open Arms!
Thank you for helping us spread kindness this past week (and always)! There's no limit to the amount of kindness we can spread, so let's continue to be kind to ourselves and find ways to be kind to others. Some simple ways are by being a polite driver, laughing often, and complaining less.
In February, I hope to send fewer Close Contact and Community Letters. I know they can be overwhelming, especially to our families who have students at different schools in our district. Please know that the community letters always get sent last, as they are purely informational. They are sent out in the evening to alleviate sending multiple notices throughout the day. Close contacts receive their notices first.
January definitely hit us hard, and we are not alone. Schools all over our county, state, and country have been impacted. I can't thank you enough for contacting the office when your child is ill and keeping them at home.
Help keep our children and community safe before and after school by:
- pulling forward at the drop off/pick-up line (white zone) and all the way to the curb
- not leaving your car in the white zone. All drivers must remain in their cars to keep the flow moving and not block people behind you
- walking your child across the street using the crosswalk
- refraining from blocking driveways, including the entryway to the staff parking lot
- refraining from making u-turns
Please also remind your child to report things that may be or are unsafe to their teacher, to me or to another adult as soon as possible.
Thank you for helping us continue to make good choices to keep each other safe!

Last Call for Hotspots!
Holbrook received a number of internet hotspots that are for immediate distribution to students. These hotspots are funded through the Emergency Connectivity Fund, a Federal program. The number of hotspots provided to Holbrook was calculated from responses to the Brightbytes technology survey you participated in this past fall.
We still have hotspots and will need to return them if they are not picked up.
Please call the office if your child needs a hotspot, and make arrangements to complete a parental certification form and pick up your hotspot.
