Ludwig's October Newsletter
We are off to a great start!!
Our teachers have spent a lot of time during this first half of the first quarter establishing procedures, getting to know the students, and assessing their skills. We will not be sending home a first-quarter mid-term progress report, however, we sent home MAP scores on September 22. You will learn more about your child's progress on the 1st quarter report card and through Parent-Teacher Conferences.
We are looking forward to some exciting events in the month of October! The fifth-grade students will be starting the G.R.E.A.T. program the third week in October. This is a wonderful program for our students, which promotes positive life skills, respect, and anger management. We will have a Fire Safety Assembly on Oct. 20 in honor of Fire Prevention month. Ludwig will also have a week-long celebration during Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23-27), which focuses on “Saying No to Drugs” with a variety of activities and drawings. The Halloween Party will be on Oct. 31 with a parade at 9:15 am followed by classroom parties from 9:30-10:30 am. Please keep in mind that our wellness policy states that our parties remain SNACK FREE. Although Halloween is a fun time for our students, we must ensure that their costumes do not include any “weapon like” items that could cause harm or disrupt the classroom. In addition, the students may wear their costumes to school on Oct. 31, but please make sure the costumes are “school appropriate.”
The portal to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences opens up on October 2 and will end on November 3. Please make sure you have a Power School username and password to sign up through Power PTC. Parent Teacher Conferences are a great opportunity to hear how your children are performing academically, emotionally, and socially at Ludwig!
Looking forward to seeing you at Ludwig events this year!
Thanks for all you do,
Lisa Lyke
