SVT / STEM ACADEMY NEWSLETTER
December 2022
It's December! Let's wrap up 2022!
December, and winter, have certainly arrived! We hope you are staying warm and safe during these snowy and icy days! December is a short month at school, but we certainly have a lot going on. The GESA branch is up and running; this is a great opportunity for students to set up and operate their own accounts – and earn some money if they take advantage of the new account promotion. We are looking forward to our first STEM Camp of the year this weekend. For many of our students, this is their first time on the leadership side of the event and we cannot wait for them to experience the joy of sharing their STEM passions with younger students.
Our final progress reports of first semester will be posted December 13th. This is the last official checkpoint of this grading period, although finals are not until the end of January. Please check PowerSchool and encourage your student to speak with their teachers about any questions or concerns for their grades. Our hope is that students can wrap things up before break and go into their vacation time without a long to do list so they can truly relax and unwind.
Just before break we will have some opportunities for FUN as we prepare for break! HOSA is hosting a movie night on December 16th for our STEM Academy students. Doors open at 5:30 PM with the movie starting at 6:00 PM. Students can plan to purchase concessions and enjoy a fun Friday with friends! Leadership will also have some activities closer to the break – have your student be on the lookout!

We hope your December treats you well!
