Granger Families!
Our FCCLA and Nurse Erica have worked really hard in coordination with a group called the Lunch Fairy. They have generously donated 5,000.00 to cover outstanding student lunch debt for Granger Students. While this doesn't cover all the lunch debt, we were able to distribute 70.00 to each student with a negative balance. For the majority of our students, this wiped out their lunch debt entirely. We are very grateful for their donation.
This does not cover debt until the end of school, but what a blessing to have so much covered up to this point .
The Lunch Fairy is a non-profit and this is their mission:
- every kid in the country deserves access to a good school lunch. It’s much harder to learn and be metabolically healthy when you don’t have access to a good lunch.
- we are looking to help districts in every state
- our primary goals are to set up emergency funds that students can access, and to eliminate school lunch debt
If we as a district can help, please reach out to your Principals.
Thanks!
Ms. Neatherlin

Granger Athletics Summer Outlook and Important Information
As our 2022-23 Granger Athletics competition school year officially closed out this past Thursday, Granger Athletics would like to say thank you to all the amazing fans and families who supported our athletic program throughout the course of this past year. Collectively, this was the most successful athletic school year Granger ISD has experienced in its athletic programs history.
We are looking forward to the 2023-24 school year, as we look to continue to make our Granger ISD family and community very proud. Our success throughout the year has much to do with the high standard we set for our student athletes during the summer months. We ask that you please push your Lion and Lady Lion athletes to be highly involved over summer break, as it is a direct component of the amount of success that we see August-May. Please find below some important dates and information regarding Granger Athletics over the summer!
June 5th, 7:00-9:00 PM--First Day of Summer Strength, Conditioning, and Skills Camp (25 Total Days)
July 27th, 6:00 PM--All Sports JH/HS Parent Meeting at the Granger Competition Gym
August 16th--First Day of School (Start of JH Football, JH Volleyball, and JH Cross Country)
Additionally, please see four important documents of information that all 2023-24 Granger Lion and Lady Lion Athletes Parents/Guardians must have their eyes on.
1) RankOne information--this is a digital platform that every parent/guardian of a student in athletics must complete for legal purposes (Think of this as the registration portion for Granger Athletics). 2023-24 RankOne Instructions.pdf
2) Physical/Medical History Document--if you are taking your child to the doctor this summer and are getting their sports physical completed, be sure to print and take this form with you. It is a UIL rule that we have an updated physical and medical history document on file for your child to participate. Many of you participated in our on-campus physicals this past May, so you are all set on the athletics side of things, however, please be sure to check with our school nurse so that all required immunizations are up-to-date for your student. 2023-24 Physical Medical History Form.pdf
3) Summer Strength, Conditioning, and Skill Development Schedule--It is vital that all athletes 7th-12th grade attend as many summer SCS sessions that they possibly can so that we can field/court the most athletic and healthy teams we possibly can. Summer Strength Conditioning Skill Session Flyer.pdf
4) Summer Sports Camp Flyer--a list of all our local YOUTH team camps offered by Granger Athletics. 2023 Summer Youth Camps.pdf
Enjoy summer break, thank you again, and GO LIONS!!

The Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University
The Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University would like to offer training at no cost to Texas parents and caregivers of children up to age 22 with core features of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Parents and caregivers will learn how to improve their child's communication skills. This service is provided by a grant project entitled Coach to Communicate (C2C), sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The training includes a 1-hour self-paced webinar that teaches behavioral strategies to increase communication use in children with ASD. Once complete, parents can choose to be paired with a coach for a more intensive 12-week training specific to their child’s communication needs (again, at no cost to parents). Shorter options of 2-5 coaching sessions are also available for parents, if better suited to their needs. Coaching is offered in English and Spanish.
Educators and service providers are also invited to complete free modules, including Coach to Communicate, to learn evidence-based strategies for autism and behavior. We currently offer webinars for over 30 different training topics. To see training modules available, enroll at https://prep.catalog.instructure.com.
We have had great experience in working with service providers and would like to develop a partnership with ISDs, schools, parent support groups, and ASD service providers to reach as many families as possible. Thank you for sharing our recruitment materials with parents, service providers, or teachers in your institution or school district. I have enclosed our recruitment materials in English and Spanish for your review. If you need hard copies of the recruitment materials or have any questions, please feel free to contact us at TAMUAuParent@tamu.edu.
Thanks so much!
