~Canandaigua Primary-Elementary School~
December 2015
I hope that you all had a restful Thanksgiving and are beginning to enjoy the spirit of the holiday season. It is hard to believe that the school year is almost half over! Although there are only 18 school days in the month of December, it is a busy time of the year and our halls are buzzing with activity! Please take a moment to check out the calendar of events listed below.
Although I am truly a summer girl at heart (give me a hot, sunny day over snow any time) I absolutely love this time of the year. Preparing for the holidays always fills me with a sense of anticipation and excitement. When you have the honor of working with children on a daily basis that feeling is magnified- and I consider myself tremendously lucky. It is a joy to hear the gleeful voices of students at the Holiday Sing-Along and to see the look of pride and pleasure on their faces when they pick out "just the right gift" at Festivus. It is inspiring to see the spirit of giving when a child brings in a donation of a toy or food item to help those in need. It is moments like these that make me realize that the greatest gifts are not those that are wrapped in ribbons under a tree, but those that are seen in the smiles of a child. Thank you for sharing the gift of your children with us.
On behalf of the entire Primary- Elementary School family, we wish you Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Marcie Ware
PK-5 Principal
