Things To Know At TJE
TJLE Library...
Our library is excited to welcome you back to the 22-23 school year. We encourage you to partner with us to continue to create a community of readers. If at any time you would like to set parameters on books your child can check out, or if you have any questions about our library, please call our librarian Holly Riggs at 817-299-6949 or email at hollyriggs@misdmail.org. We look forward to reading our way through 22-23!
You must bring a valid physical ID each time you check into the office. A picture of an ID on your phone is not acceptable. Please wear your badge at all times, and only go to the location indicated on the badge. Return your badge to the front office, upon leaving so that we know you are no longer in the building. This aligns with our MISD safety expectations.
Party invitations will only be passed out to the whole class or for girl/boy specific parties. Our goal is to never make students feel excluded. This is our practice at Thelma Jones. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me, Mrs. Rhines, directly.
You may send treat bags for your student's birthday. Treat bags will be passed out at the end of the day and sent home with students. Ideas for treat bags include: stickers, pencils, small party favors, and wrapped candy. You may not bring food for your student's birthday. Things like cupcakes and cookies will not be accepted.
When having lunch with your student, please be mindful that you may only eat with your student in the designated area. I know it's nice to meet your child's friends, but we are not allowed to put other students in your care without parent permission. Once lunch is over, you will need to checkout in the front. No visitors on the playground.

JOIN THE THELMA JONES ELEMENTARY PTA FOR YOUR CHILD
The Thelma Jones Elementary (TJE) PTA is back and we need you to join us!! “Why should you join the PTA?”, you might ask. Did you know that PTA membership and dues support your child by funding essential educational and curriculum needs with the school; advocating on behalf of children and educators; and by building an inclusive school community for all families. We also work hard to make great memories and experiences with and for our TJE students and families. Joining the PTA is an investment in your child and supports their potential.
We invite you to join and PTA for your child because increasing our membership, even by one, makes it possible to provide important educational resources and create a stronger school community. There is no wrong or right way to be involved. Anything that you can give, whether it's time or money, will support your child's potential.
TJE PTA membership dues are only $8 per person. Join the TJE PTA today by returning the completed membership form sent home in your child’s Take-Home Folder along with the membership payment. Pay by cash, check or pay online at www.joinpta.org. Please make checks payable to “Thelma Jones Elementary PTA”.
