Lockdown this Thursday 1st period. Please remind your students that if they're on campus but not in a class, go to the nearest bathroom or your car. If you're in the café, go to C111.
Possible professional development opportunity:
A group in Dallas formerly known as the Salesmanship Club is now called The Momentous Institute. It focuses on the social and emotional health of young people, and they have workshops throughout the year.
If you consider this an area you'd like to know more about, contact JUNIE JONES. She is putting together a team of interested staff members to learn more and look at ways to bring this awareness to our campus.

Plano Principals Association Scholarships and Spirit Wear
This year PPA is offering a larger selection of Plano ISD Spirit Wear for you and your staff to wear and show district spirit. When possible we have included selections that honor the senior high school feeder colors and a more neutral color for those who don't want to choose between PESH, PSHS, or PWSH. Please share this order form with your staff.
Plano Principal's Association is an organization of principals, assistant principals, and interns, which was developed to serve the interests of Plano ISD. We are advocates for our schools and their staff, along with offering scholarships and charitable donations to groups who serve our Plano ISD students. This year we have approved giving the following:
- Four $1,000 scholarships for seniors pursuing education as a major - we plan to give one scholarship each to a worthy senior from PESH, PSHS, PWSH, and for the first time the Academy High School.
- Three $1,000 scholarships for paraprofessionals pursuing their education degree.
- Three $1,000 scholarships for aspiring administrators - current Plano ISD staff pursuing their Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
- Three $500 donations to charitable organizations who serve our school community
- Donations of $50 given in the name of the individual to an organization chosen by retiring principals
Our spirit wear is priced between $12.00 and $36.00. A portion of the cost of each item sold goes to PPA to use for scholarships and donations. There are many schools who offer a day per week or per month for their staff to wear the PPA shirts with jeans. We hope that you can think of creative ways to inspire your staff to buy spirit wear and help support PPA in giving scholarships and charitable donations.
The thematic t-shirts are back by popular demand. Make your Mark is offered in a variety of colors. In addition, many of you expressed an interest in zip up outerwear. We have the choice of a long sleeve fleece jacket or a vest that zips up the front.
This semester's PPA spirit wear is offered for sale online. I am attaching a page with the shirts and jackets being offered and other information about them. The actual order form is online at the web address below. If you have trouble seeing it I find it works best in Internet Explorer on my computer. While filling out the order form, make sure you mark the box for "pick up". This will save you money and we will pick it up and send it through interoffice mail.

Next Pep Rally!
We have a very exciting pep rally next Friday, January 22nd!
Our theme is: The Winning Tradition.
We will celebrate State Championship Teams, in ALL areas (speech, sports, etc…). If you keep in touch with former teachers, students, coaches or players that were a part of a championship team, please let Glenn know.
We would like to celebrate these people!
Pat Thomas (former PSHS championship player & retired NFL player) will be in attendance to present our school with the Golden Football Award. The Thomas family, Gerald Brence, John Clark and Tom Kimbrough will also be attending.
Theatre will present a Legally Blonde performance- drill team and cheer will also have performances!
Let’s show our Plano pride!
Please wear your maroon staff shirts and bring your department/club flags.
We would like a student representative to participate in our parade of flags, on the gym floor, at the beginning of the pep rally.
Side note: We plan to have a separate winter sport pep rally later in February to celebrate specific competitive groups! I’ll send out information regarding this pep rally in the next couple of weeks.
