A huge thanks to all of our Parent Volunteers for a fun Spring Party!!!

This week we're wrapping up our health-based unit, Alive and Well. During this unit we've been reading a variety of fiction and nonfiction literature about our five senses, bones, muscles, staying healthy and fit. We will learn more about behaviors that keep us healthy such as active play and exercise, getting good sleep, good nutrition and using good hygiene practices.

Reading - As we read we will try using the 5 W's (who, what, when, where, why) to ask and answer questions for better understanding. We will work to identify the main idea. Also, we will be retelling stories by naming characters, setting, problem, events and the ending.

Vocabulary Words - germs, excercise

Sight Words - that, now & why

Writing - We are using sight words and phonetic spelling to write information and our opinions and personal experiences about being healthy.

Phonics - We are learning about silent e. We are reading and writing consonant vowel consonant (CVCe) words.

Math - Practice counting by ones, fives and tens. Keep using the hundreds chart in your child's FROG folder to help them practice counting and writing numbers to 100.

We are working on sorting, comparing objects and graphing in Math Topic 13.

Please login to your child's math account for more practice.
