Principal's Message

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I hope everyone had a good week and you are looking forward to the weekend. If you didn't receive the information the district is adding a day to the end of the school year. This is because of the 2 and a half days we were off due to snow. Our last day of school will be June 14th.

As you know we are working on organizing the move. On Thursday we received boxes for the teachers to start packing anything they are not using. At the end of the year, we will have limited time to pack. Construction starts on June 16th and they will be working on the roof over the office area and K-2. We will need to be out by the end of the day on the 16th. We will have lots to do in a short amount of time.

Room assignments are being worked on and I hopefully will have more information soon. If not next week after Spring Break.

I know there are concerns about next year. The question I am hearing is whether should I stay at CSS or go to my neighborhood school. Remember if you decide to go to your neighborhood school and want to come back to CSS you will have to go through the lottery. Let me know if you have questions about this.

On March 23rd we will have Coffee with the Principal. I hope you can join us for coffee and informal conversations. Also next week we have Spirit Week and the Salmon Fair, both on Friday, March 24th. Spring Break begins at the end of the day on March 24th and we will return to school on Monday, April 3rd.

As always, have a safe weekend, and enjoy the sunny weather on Saturday. If you have questions or concerns please reach out.

The Yearbook Staff needs photos of 8th-graders from when you were younger. These photos will be included in the yearbook and the end-of-year 8th-grader slideshow. Your picture does not have to be a BABY picture, but it should be a picture of you when you were quite younger (think Kindergarten or earlier).

  • Photos must be submitted by Friday, March 24.

  • Printed photos can be turned in to Ms. Skybak.

  • If you submit a printed photo, we will scan it and return it to you.

  • Be sure to include your name in the file or on the back of your photo.

  • If you do not submit a photo, you will not be included in the “8th Grade Baby Picture” page in the Yearbook.

DUE TODAY BY 5PM !!!!!!!! CSS Siblings & the PPS Transfer Lottery OPEN NOW

How do I apply for the lottery for a sibling of a current CSS student?

  • In order to enroll a sibling, you need to apply for the lottery online: https://www.pps.net/Page/2343. You’ll need your current CSS student’s ID number.
*If you plan to enroll a sibling of a current CSS student for the 2023-2024 school year, please also notify Creative Science School by emailing our School Administrative Assistant, Joanna Goebel: jgoebel@pps.net with your new student’s name and incoming grade. This is for our planning purposes only and is not related to the lottery application. Details on our website here.

Enrollment and Transfer Options Breakdown

MidLevel Students:

I have a MidLevel student and want to stay at CSS: No actions are needed. All of CSS’s 6th - 8th grade students are enrolled for Creative Science School @ Bridger for 2023-24.

I have a MidLevel student and applied for the lottery for a different school: The lottery for 6th - 8th was conducted in the fall. If you applied to a lottery for a different school you should have received the results and your student enrollment has been updated for 2023-24. If you missed this lottery and want to move to a different focus option school you need to submit a “hardship petition.”

I have a MidLevel student but want to return to my neighborhood school starting next school year 2023-24: families who want to opt-out of CSS need to submit “hardship petition” by 5pm March 17th.

K-5th Students:

I have a K-5 student and want to stay at CSS: No actions are needed. All of CSS’s 1st - 5th grade students are enrolled for Creative Science School @ Bridger for 2023-24.

I have a K-5 student but want to return to my neighborhood school starting next school year 2023-24: families who want to opt-out of CSS need to submit “hardship petition” by 5pm March 17th.

I have a sibling of a current Creative Science School student and I want them to attend CSS next year for 2023-24: Action needed! Please apply to the 2023-24 Elementary School Transfer Cycle and Lottery and email our registrar Joanna Goebel that you have a sibling planning on attending CSS. jgoebel@pps.net

Donations for 8th Grade Promotion Fund

The 8th-grade promotion will be on June 12th at 6 pm. The Leadership class and staff prepare for this event. Traditionally 7th-grade families volunteer to help on the day of the event so the 8th-grade families can enjoy their last event at CSS.

We need donations for supplies for the event! They include things like decorations, cupcakes, food, drink, certificate supplies, balloons, flowers, etc. You can donate to the fund for this year's 8th-grade Promotion here: https://pps.schoolpay.com/link/CSS8thPromotion Thank you so much for your generosity.

Donations Needed Please!

Teachers are in need of cleaning wipes and band-aids. If you can donate some, please bring them to the office. Money can also be donated to be used to buy these items for the teachers. Thank you!
