A Message From Dr. Hinson


Hello Stuber Families,


This past week we continued to learn the power of PIVOT. Our 4th grade students were ready to take their STAAR assessment but a technology problem throughout the state caused a shut down and rescheduling. Fortunately, everyone pivoted well and the day continued because we are all always ready to learn!


So, I reiterate what I said before... Tomorrow our 4th grade students take the STAAR Writing Assessment. We know they are prepared and equipped to show what they know. At Stuber we Spark Success because we focus on growth and one test on one day does not define our students or our school. Every student is way more than a score! Test scores are how we are judged by the Texas Education Agency, but please hear me when I say we place our efforts on creating connections with students and on growing them to full bloom. These tests are a small portion of how we hold ourselves accountable to our students, our parents, and our community. We have no doubt Stuber will SPARKLE and SHINE! Please remember to make sure your child gets plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast each day so they can perform at their absolute best at all times!

Stuber Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Eileen Martin for being selected as our Teacher of the Year. Her energy in the classroom engages students and pushes them to do more and be their best self everyday!

Stuber Paraprofessional of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Karel Henry, Registrar, as she was selected as our Paraprofessional of the Year. Her care for every student, family, and staff member is inspiring. She helps every one who walks through her office feel loved!

Coin Drive: April 14-16th!

Check your couch cushions and piggy banks for our Coin Drive benefiting the American Cancer Society! Student Council members will be outside at morning drop off lines on April 14th, 15th and 16th to collect your pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters!

ROADWORK CAUSES DELAYS

The construction for the extension of Fishtrap Rd. to Stuber has commenced. They have started with erosion control, but soon after they will begin pouring some temporary asphalt and preparing to widen this to match the existing four lanes in front of Rushing. The hope is that it will be completed before school starts in August. Please plan accordingly as our increased traffic due to new development continues to cause significant delays in the morning, but students are still expected to be at school on time.


  • School starts at 7:45. This means students should be in their classroom at that time-not pulling up to the front door of the school.
  • ALL early dismissals must be completed by 2:15.
  • All absences should be reported to our attendance line.

STUBER HOUSES RULE!!

Every Monday is a celebration at Stuber. One way we celebrate is wearing our House shirts and/or colors. We are so proud of our March House Winner - Fomento! We look forward to seeing who will be the April winner on April 26th. Make plans to tune in via Facebook Live that morning to experience all the fun! Also head over to our Facebook page to watch the House Assembly. The reveal is always so much fun!!!


This week we focus on Essential 11- Do something because it is right-not just for a reward. Help us encourage our students to do good things without expecting anything in return:)

Parent Picnics in FULL SWING

Our parent picnics have begun. Each grade level has a designated week. The classroom teacher will send out a sign up genius where each family can sign up for one lunch with his/her student. The parent will sign out the student for lunch, wait just outside the front door, choose an area in the front lawn/sidewalk to eat and enjoy lunch. A teacher or administrator will come outside to line students up and check to make sure everyone is accounted for before walking student to recess locations. Students may not finish early and reenter the building. Look for the sign up genius from teachers the Friday before your scheduled week. Please understand that siblings/other relatives will not be able to join due to limited space/timing constraints. Please only sign up for one day as to allow everyone to have the opportunity.** In case of inclement weather, families may enjoy lunch in the car as space is not available inside. If possible, the day will be rescheduled at a later date. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. If you are not signed up, then you will not be able to eat lunch on campus. See the calendar with lunch times below:


April 12th-16th: 2nd Grade (11:20AM-11:50AM) & 4th Grade (12:40-1:10)

April 19th- 23rd: 3rd Grade (12 -12:30) & 5th Grade (1:20-1:50)

Stuber Spring Book Fair Information

  • Students will preview the fair next week when they come for their class visit. Look for a flyer that will be sent home with students once they preview!
  • Students will shop the fair during their specific class visits April 19-23. With only one class in at a time and only those with payment shopping for books, we will be able to keep it a safe shopping environment.
  • All forms of payment accepted. Encouraged if allowing student to select- send money in a marked envelope with student name and dollar amount.
  • There will still be a virtual companion to the fair. You can allow student to preview and pick out materials and purchase online at home during the week of the book fair.

End of Year Information

Although somethings are still being planned, we wanted to share dates and basic information so you can begin to plan accordingly. In the calendar below, you will see dates for various celebrations. We are prioritizing 5th grade students as much as possible but do want every student to feel loved, valued, and celebrated. Please hold off on emailing requesting more information. All information regarding final decisions/plans will be shared no later than April 25th.


Our Outdoor Honors Assemblies will take place at the bus loop. A large screen will display a slide show for enjoyment and chairs will be lined up for students to have seating. Parents are welcome to attend but will stand behind the marked areas for guests. Seating will not be provided for guests so parents are welcome to bring lawn chairs or prepared to stand. Assemblies will last approximately 30 minutes and will recognize Principal's Award, A Honor Roll All Year, Leadership (Specialized for grades K/1). Parents will be notified if his/her student is receiving an award.


End of Year Parties are currently being planned/discussed. Once information is finalized we will share as soon as possible but we expect this to be similar to how Winter parties were managed which means parents will not attend.


5th Grade students will have a fun day at the park on May 17th. Parents are welcome to meet the students there. Planning has just begun for this event so stay tuned for emails with final details asap.


5th Grade will take their final walk on campus outside rather than through the building. Parents will line the front carline area on both sides with posters and/or words of congratulations for students as they walk through heading to the bus loop for their final assembly. All awards will be given at this event.

Talent Show

Mark your calendar! The new date for our Stuber Talent Show is May 20th at 8:15-9:15 a.m.

A link will be sent to virtual students and parents the morning of the show.

The PTO is a vital part of Stuber's Success. We greatly appreciate the board who has served this year. We have accomplished so much for our students and staff by partnering together. The new board will officially take over duties July 1st!

Kinder Connection- Welcoming New Kinder Friends to Prosper ISD

Each year Prosper ISD hosts Eager Eaglets (Kinder Connection) to welcome newly Prosper ISD Kindergarten students. This year, the event will tentatively take place on May 3rd. There will be three time slots available for parents to register for the event. Only families who have formally registered as a Kindergarten student for the 21-22 school year will receive information to sign up. The event includes an opportunity to tour the building, hear about life as a Kindergarten student, meet key people including the nurse/SRO officer/administration, read a book in the library, and more! Be sure to pass this information along to your friends who will be new to Stuber! Registration for the 21-22 school year is now open!
