Final Message from Mr. Hanzeli...for now :-)
Dear Elger Bay Parents and Guardians,
We are bringing the school year to a full stop at the end of this coming week. Even as we do that, all of us have our minds on what is going to happen with next school year and when will I know?
As you may have heard, the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) put out guidance yesterday. It does not really define specifically what each district will do, but gives direction for what needs to happen in preparation. Stanwood-Camano School District will be hard at work putting together our local plan. To that end, as we head into the quieter months of July and early August, please make sure you monitor the school district website for any specific updates that might happen during this time period.
In the meanwhile, please know that I am thinking of your children, hoping they are each happy and healthy, as we move through these difficult times.
Sincerely,
Victor Hanzeli

Grade 5 Student Promotion Recognition (Updated Plan w/ Options)
Here is the FINAL version of our grade 5 student promotion recognition plan.
On Wednesday, June 17, 1:00-2:30, there is scheduled a special time slot for grade 5 students to have their parent drive through at the front of the school to receive a farewell congratulations packet that the staff have so lovingly put together. Using proper social distancing we are hoping to have some of our staff lining the walkway as the G5 students are driven through.
But don't fret....
If for some reason you are unable to make this time slot in order for your child to receive their promotion gift and congratulations, your child's teacher is still planning to drive by your home to try and present the gift.
Mrs. Anderson will do her home deliveries on Wednesday, June 17, 4:00-7:00
Mrs. Slagg will do her home deliveries on Thursday, June 18, 4:00-7:00
To keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible, we will do that presentation outside your front door / porch (unless you would rather we not).
Your children are so amazing and we so deeply appreciate the chance to recognize them at this time. Thank you for being so flexible in this regard.
Our most wonderful librarian, Mrs. Seri Chaplik, is sending along the following information from the great folks in our local Camano / Sno-Isle libraries. Check it out!
