November 2021

A Note From Ms. Hill

Dear Starr Families:

Happy November!...Starr Elementary is fortunate to have community support during the holidays. Firehouse BBQ and Blues is partnering with Starr Elementary for the fourth year in a row to ensure ALL neighborhood families are fed on Thanksgiving (November 25th). Due to the pandemic, traditions will be altered again this year for the safety of everyone. Families will have the choice of a pick-up or delivery option. Please complete the form to help us plan: CLICK HERE....A reminder will be sent out to families the week before Thanksgiving.

Additional Firehouse BBQ Thanksgiving Information: Pick-up and delivery will take place between 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. on Thursday, November 25th. An adult must be home between 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. if the delivery option is chosen. We will only be delivering to Richmond addresses.

Attendance Goal: As a school, our monthly attendance goal is 96%. For October, our attendance average was 90%. Please help us reach our goal by making sure students get to school every day they are not sick. If students are sick, please call us and let us know why the student will be out.

Lexia/Dreambox: Please don't forget your child has the opportunity to practice at home, every day with Lexia and Dreambox. You may access both through the Clever portal by clicking here. If you child needs their username and password, please contact their teacher.

Starr Preschool: Congratulations to Starr Preschool Staff! Miss Karie and Miss Krista have worked hard to earn License Exempt and Paths to Quality Level 3 status.
