Drawbridge and Elevator, Reflection and Materials
We chose to make an elevator because an elevator is very useful in mall, hotels, buildings etc. Elevators are used so that old people and handicapped people can travel with ease. It's a faster way to go up and down different floors/levels of a building. The elevator goes up and down using the two syringes. First, you push in the syringe on the side of the building inwards which will cause the elevator to lift upwards. The water in the pipe that connects the 2 syringes will push the syringe that's attached to the bottom of the elevator, so that the elevator lifts up. After, you pull the syringe outwards, that will make the elevator go down. The water in the pipe connecting the 2 syringes will travel to the syringe on the side of the building pushing it out and making the syringe at the bottom of the elevator to go down. That's how the elevator works.
We made the drawbridge because a drawbridge helps all kinds of vehicles to cross over large bodies of water safely. Also, when a boat has to pass beneath the bridge, the bridge lifts up so the boat can pass. The drawbridge lifts and comes down using the 2 syringes. So, you push the syringe on the side of the drawbridge inwards which will make the bridge lift upwards. The water in the pipe that connects the 2 syringes will travel from the syringe on the side to the syringe attached to the bottom of the drawbridge to make the bridge lift up. Afterwards, you pull the syringe outwards which will make the bridge to come back down. The water in the pipes connecting the 2 syringes together will return to the syringe on the side and the syringe attached to the bridge will go down which will cause the drawbridge to come back down. That's how the drawbridge works.

We think we did a pretty good job on this project but can improve. The project took us awhile to finish. We faced some challenges while making the elevator and drawbridge. So, when we tried to get the elevator to move it wouldn't stay in place so we taped it to the building. The foam kept breaking apart again and again on the drawbridge so we had to glue it and tape it firmly to place. The syringe under the bridge kept coming off, so we had to use the glue gun to put it in place. Also, the bridge wouldn't lift because the plastic tube kept moving, so we had to tape the tube to the base. For the next time, we will make the project more neat and color coordinated. Also, we will make the project more complex and more sturdy.
