Coronavirus Impact: LPHS Update
March 17, 2020
Information for LPHS Families
Without a doubt this is a very challenging time for our community, state, nation, and the entire world. However, I remain hopeful and optimistic that we will pull through it together. Let's commit to helping our neighbors, family, friends, and fellow citizens.
The purpose of this newsletter is to share information about the impact of COVID 19 at LaPorte High School (as much as we know at this time). The current situation is ever-changing so please understand that the following information may be incomplete and/or evolving. We are currently working under the plan that calls for building and activity closure through April 14. We intend to announce plans for an updated plan and calendar at the beginning of April.
We continue to monitor the novel coronavirus situation carefully and follow all guidelines and restrictions set by our district, state, and federal authorities. I believe they are being put into place for the good of all. We realize the coronavirus concerns can be overwhelming and confusing. Undoubtedly, the coronavirus has impacted our daily lives and will continue to do so in the near future. As a school community we are doing our best to provide timely information and resources to help our community contain the spread of the virus.
Please don't hesitate to be in touch with questions.

All School Activities Cancelled or Postponed
I am especially sympathetic to our seniors who are wondering about end-of-year banquets, prom, and graduation. At this time no decisions have been made. I am hopeful we can come up with a plan. We will continue to adhere to the directives, timelines, and guidelines from state leaders and the CDC while looking for ways to adjust to the circumstances we are facing. We are in this turbulence together and will continue to support one another as things develop.
