A newsletter for Walnut Hills High School

Principal's Message

September 3, 2021

Dear Walnut Hills High School Families,

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, I want to thank all of our parents for your fantastic support as we began this school year. I am particularly appreciative for everything that you have been doing to support our students with the changes in transportation and the overall adjustment to the new school year.

I would also like to thank our hard working and caring faculty and staff who have made a huge difference to our students. Their commitment is outstanding and our kids are the beneficiaries. Thank you for being part of a school community that provides rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for our kids.

In closing I want to wish you a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Tuesday morning.

Thank you,

John Chambers

Please note that the school is not equipped to manage telehealth appointments that students may have during the school day. If you are interested in WHHS Swim Team and want to receive all email communications regarding pre-season training and tryouts, you must declare your interest in swim team in Final Forms (https://cps-oh.finalforms.com). Then you will be on the email list. If you need help setting up an account, you can contact Coach Tammy Smith at walnuthillsswimming@gmail.com. Want to be part of the rewarding work of Walnut Woods? Walnut Woods is a newly designated Cincinnati Park located right outside our school's front doors, between Sulsar Avenue and Victory Parkway. Students have been working hard to make this 10 acres of woodlot into a habitat restoration area and accessible land lab for WHHS. We hope that our neighbors in the Evanston community will find joy in using the new trail system as well! Here are all the details about how to help. The next volunteer day is September 18.
Reminder for students who drive and park on campus: student parking is ONLY in Sulsar, Lot C, Lower Lot D, and Lot E (South Field).

We held our annual Club Fair today at all lunches, and it was AWESOME! There are so many ways to get involved in our school. We hope all students choose at least one club or activity. Updates and announcements about club activities are posted on the Student Body page on Schoology.
Eagles Read! Our librarians have launched a new program to encourage all Eagles to enjoy reading: faculty book recommendations! Students can now learn about what their teachers are reading and why.
