An Introduction
My name is Chad Riffle. I am an Instructional Consultant employed by the K12 Educational Technology Association that provides technology for your district. As a part of your service, we offer teacher training and coaching in educational technology integration. I am available to you and your staff for professional development, small group, or one on one coaching on the use of technology in the classroom. Below is a menu of training available grouped by the estimated amount of time required to provide the specific trainings. Pick and choose, mix and match, get a training a la carte. Training / Coaching with these appetizer tools can generally be done in 10 to 30 minutes and include real world best practice examples tried and proven in a classroom setting.
Remind.com
Remind (formerly Remind101) is a safe, free way for teachers to text message students and keep in touch with parents.
Teachers never see students’ phone numbers. Students never see theirs. Teachers can sign up in seconds. Use Remind to send quick Announcements to the entire class, or start a Chat for one-to-one conversation.

Smore makes it easy to create online effective flyers/newsletter that can be emailed out or embedded on a class site. You can update the flyer at any time, and the next time the recipients open the flyer they will see the updates.

Kahoot
Learn how to find, create, and administer formative assessments quickly and easily using Kahoot!. Keep students motivated and engaged while formatively assessing their learning. Kahoot! is a game-based learning and trivia platform used in classrooms, offices, and social settings. It allows you to find or create formative assessments that can be administered in an engaging way that motivates students to try their best. When your finished you will be able to make data informed decisions based on the results.

Quizlet and Quizlet Live
Learn how to create online flashcard sets that can be used by students to study in engaging ways. Quizlet is an online tool that focusses on terms and definitions. You can add a class and make a flashcard set that students can access any time, anywhere with an internet enabled device. With Quizlet Live students must work together to find the right word or definition to the description in a collaborative and engaging way

FlipGrid
Fully engage your students in deep discussions using Flipgrid a website that allows teachers to create "grids" of short discussion-style questions that students respond to through recorded videos. Each grid is effectively a message board where teachers can pose a question and their students can post 90-second video responses that appear in a tiled "grid" display.

Google Expeditions
Main Menu Tools (1 to 6 Hours)
Training / Coaching with these main menu tools generally require an hour to a full days training. These could be done at Wexford-Missaukee ISD, West Shore ESD, or in your building.
Google Drive
Your district Google Apps for Education account gives you access to unlimited cloud storage and access to Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Forms. This introductory session will get you organizing and sharing folders and documents, uploading documents, and
more.
Google Docs
Google Docs is Google’s answer to Microsoft Word. The benefits are access to the Google Documents on nearly any device connected to the internet, and the document saves as you type into it. This session will leave you creating, sharing, and collaborating on Docs with fellow staff members and students in real time.

Google Slides
Google Slides is Google’s answer to Microsoft Powerpoint. This session will detail how to create and utilize Google Slides to create student centered activities in the classroom.

Google Sheets
Google Sheets is Google’s answer to Microsoft Excel. This session will help get you started with using Google Sheets to store and analyze data, have students collaborate on shared sheets, and use Google Sheets to have students turn in lab results.

Utilizing Technology in the Modern Classroom
Illuminate Assessments Getting Started with Item Bank and Flex Assessments
Illuminate is a data and assessment warehouse. It can save you time grading assignments, and help you provide timely feedback to your students. Create and administer custom built standard based assessments to help inform data driven decisions for your students.

Illuminate Reports Accessing Data and Getting Started with Reports
Illuminate offers gives us many reporting options. However, there are a few prebuilt reports that are most pertinent to for teachers and their students. This session will help you analyze the data you have from the assessment(s) include assessments created during Illuminate Assessment training. This session will show you how to access the pre-built reports that every 3-12 teacher should know how to access.
Prerequisite: None (experience with Illuminate assessment creation is a plus)
Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a learning management system that integrates with Google Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets efficiently to organize your classroom. Give assignments that automatically create copies for the students and gives them the ability to turn in homework digitally.
Prerequisites: Some experience in Google Drive, Docs,and/or Sheets, and/or Slides required.
