Parents, please consider signing up to volunteer as a chaperone at the parade if you have already completed the CISD background check here. The sign up to volunteer is here. Please note that chaperones will be walking the entire parade route with the band.

We will be wearing our summer uniforms for the Comal Country Fair Parade. Students need to wear their summer uniform when they arrive on Friday at 6:45 am. Students may wear a hydration backpack for the parade.

Summer Uniform

• Band - Grey band polo, black dress shorts, black belt, black no show black socks, marching shoes, and band ball cap. No makeup or jewelry.
• Color guard - Black dance capris, CG shirt, black no show socks, and gym shoes.

Schedule for the day

• 6:45 am Call time in summer uniform @ DHS

• 7:15 am Depart for DMS to pick up 8th grade band students from DMS
  

• 8:30 am Arrive at staging area
  

• 9:00 am Approximate parade step off

• 11:00 am Corral performance at fair grounds
  

• 12:30 pm Approximate parent pick up @ DHS

Wind players who are sharing a spot will find out their final assignment in our UIL marching show on Monday. Students who are awarded a spot will perform the show at football games and marching contests for the rest of the season. Students who are not assigned a spot in the show will begin learning a spot in our X-block for the marching show. The X-block will perform at all football games. Students in the X-block will be assigned to a prop for marching competitions. Monday will be challenging for some students who badly want to be awarded a spot in the show, but are awarded a spot in our X-block. All assignments are essential to our success at marching competition. Students who fail a class on the 6-week progress report will become ineligible for the Comal Classic Marching Competition on October 8th. We will pull students from our X-block to fill any spots in our marching show due to ineligibility.
