January Highlights
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN KINDERGARTEN
READING WORKSHOP
We will continue to work with our "Reading Superpowers" to further develop and improve our reading skills. We will be selecting new books for our book baggies that will reflect what we are learning and challenging us to move ahead.
WRITING WORKSHOP
In Writing Workshop we will be writing our own "How to..." books. This helps to develop understanding sequence and the idea that books have a beginning, middle, and an end. It's always fun to see which topics your children choose to teach others.
MATH
We will explore 3D shapes and compare them to common geometric shapes. We will also identify and create patterns.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will continue and complete our study of families and neighborhoods. We will be visiting Pennswood to see community helpers in action. In addition, we'll be working on our addresses and telephone numbers.
