Class Curriculum

Writer's Workshop - This week we will be digging deeper with poetry and songs. We will be revising soon and celebrating with a special 'coffee house' style jam, Wednesday, April 20th at 8:45. We would love to have you there.

Reader's Workshop - I have been blown away with the growth of 'our kids'. They are reading and thinking deeply about text. This week each child will be organizing the information they have learned about their chosen topic that they have been reading about across genres.

Math Workshop - We continue to work on adding double digits with and without regrouping. (43+32, 67+ 35)

Maker Space / STEM

This past week children accepted the challenge to design and construct a model bridge using a variety of materials. Friday we tested to see which bridge was the strongest! This week children are being challenged to use what they have learned about buildings and structures to continue to work on their bridges. For this week's challenge their bridge will be placed in 4 inches of water. There bridges must be able to sustain against the water and hold up to 36 blocks.

Check out our Makerspace grant.
