Preventing breats cancer can start with you! By scheduling your yearly mammogram and living a healthy lifestyle can significantly decrease your chances of getting breast cancer. Knowing your family history can let you if you need to take more precautions to prevent yourself from getting breast cancer.

Many different walks/runs, fundraising, and awareness events take place around country each year! When a cancer effects many different families worldwide people join together to find a cure and support those that have fought and are fighting breast cancer.
What is breast cancer?
Breast cancer is a cancer that effects the breast. It is the most common cancer amoung women in the United States and effects every 1 in 8 women in the United States.
Symptoms
Symptotms can sometimes be very subtle and can go unseen if you do not get a yearly mammogram and check your breast once a month at home. Some symptoms inclue: lumps in the breast tissue, discharge from the nipple, and a change in the appearence of the nipple.
What if I get breast cancer?
If you get diagnosed with breast cancer you are not alone. Every 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year in the United States. Early detection is key. Treatment for breast cancer is based on the stage of the cancer. If the cancer is invasive a mastecomy or lumpectomy may be performed to remove the breast. Radiation or chemptherapy may be necessary as well.
