Fall 2020
President's Note
FOX participated in a MN wide scavenger hunt sponsored by the Park and Trails Council and hosted a drawing contest for a 2021calendar that we are currently trying to sell with raffle tickets. We also sponsored several seasonal interns, an Eagle Scout project, a few exhibit updates, and are working hard to come up with a plan to be able to rent skis and snowshoes this winter. If you haven't already, please consider renewing your FOX membership-we appreciate the support.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our most successful and exciting fundraiser, Zoodazzle. However, we look to the future and are hoping for some big things in 2021. We are in the process of brainstorming for a fundraiser that would correspond to the groundbreaking of the nature center. Stay tuned for details.
Warm wishes for a safe and healthy holiday season, and best wishes for the new year!

Get your Raffle Ticket and 2021 FOX Calendars!
As we continue to raise funds for displays in the new nature center we had to think differently this year. Through the month of September FOX hosted an art contest for area kids. The winning art became the front and back covers of a 2021 Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo photo calendar. Proceeds from calendar sales will help us continue our mission of supporting park projects.
When you purchase a calendar for $20, you also get entered into a raffle. Prizes include:
- 1st Place: $100
- 2nd Place: $50
- 3rd Place: Merchandise package
The sale of the calendars will be FOX's only fundraiser this year. Due to COVID-19 our fundraising opportunities have been limited. Contact the staff at Oxbow park or any of the Board members to purchase your calendar and raffle ticket! Drawing for the raffle is scheduled for December 20th.

Scavenger Hunt winners!
Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota organized a scavenger hunt contest for many parks across the state. We were excited to be added to their website and increase our visibility statewide! To contribute, Oxbow Park staff created an A to Z hunt and FOX added prizes and extended the hunt through mid-October. We hope families enjoyed the educational opportunity of getting onto the trails and hunting for flowers, animals, and so much more. We awarded the top 2 entries with FOX merchandise.

- I love to be outdoors playing Pickleball, golfing, hiking and bike riding
- I enjoy travelling
Oxbow Park is very dear to my heart as my parents, Jim and Eileen Caulfield, owned part of the land at Oxbow before it was sold to the County in 1967.
I remember riding horse with my dad to check on new baby calves. We had many family picnics down at the park and I now bring my grandchildren out to Oxbow to create new memories.
It was an easy yes when I was asked to become a Board member for FOX. I feel it is important to continue to raise funds for the park and the zoo so it can remain free for families to enjoy.
Friends of Oxbow
In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, a small group of people became very involved with Oxbow Park. These folks shared a common love of the outdoors and nature, and took advantage of all that this relatively new county park had to offer. Almost immediately, these pioneers had a vision for how they could influence, support and provide services for the park.
