Vergennes Union High School

Shout Out to our Child Nutrition HEROS!

This month, the Vergennes Union High School child nutrition program underwent an Administrative Review with the State of Vermont. The purpose of the review is to provide feedback on areas for improvement in the many areas of oversight. Following their visit, the state could not identify a single area in need of improvement at VUHS! This is an amazing accomplishment~ we are so proud of our team!

The Vergennes Rotary will sponsor two members from the class of 2024 to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference (RYLA) at NVU on June 24-26, 2022. Information will be distributed to all sophomores through morning meetings. Any student interested in attending needs to submit their application by Tuesday March 22 at 3 pm. The most recent participant was Parker Kayhart and it was a virtual conference. This year is in person but must follow the college’s covid requirements.

What is RYLA?

RYLA strives to teach what it takes to be an effective leader.

Every RYLA includes the following topics:

Fundamentals of leadership
Ethics of positive leadership
Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
Conflict management and problem solving
Building self-esteem and self-confidence
