Revolved Around Technology

On my digital media log I counted using instagram about 15 to 20 times a day to upload pictures, look at other people's pictures, or browse their profiles. This ties into my digital presence because I have a profile that if approved that person will be able to see all the pictures I posted. Mrs. Young stated when we start applying for colleges what we put on those websites will either make or break our future.
Shopping
While waiting for new updates on instagram i will go on finish line or amazon to see what kind of merchandise they have on sale. I go on them so often i have an app on my phone and with one click everything I've looked at or saved is on there. It makes it easier to buy things that way so I won't have to go through pages I've already seen. Before I never cared about putting my debit card info into my phone or computer until Mrs. Young said it could easily be saved and companies could see it. It's a way of tracking and potentially stocking an individual.
My Education
If there's nothing i see appealing on either instagram or shopping I will use my lap top. My laptop is another way I use technology. Not only to randomly search the web, but also helpful in finding out when homework is due and completing my assignements. Knowing that I'm on my phone more then I do my work it does affect my grades. I found this out when i would rather be on amazon then turn in my homework assignment the next day. I will always have more than enough time to get on my phone but I'll only have one chance to make my senior year my best.
College Apps
Also on my laptop I will search for colleges in Indiana to apply to. Knowing that I need to start narrowing my options down for college I would either fill out the applications on my phone or don't fill them out at all. Obviously that doesn't help when I can't see everything on the screen or it's required that I use a computer. I'm just so use of using my phone for everything for it's convenience I'm forgetting how much of an impact It's going to have on me later in life.
Text me, we will make plans!
While I'm filling out the application or after I will text my friends to see if they want to make plans. The weather impacts my digital presence because that determines if I'll text my friends and make plans with them. Also if it's an upcoming event I will check the weather on my phone with an app I have and within 30 seconds I know what the weather will be that entire week. Rather then just waiting and finding out myself when I go outside.
No Music, No Life
Normally when my friends and I hang out we listen to music. I have a pandora account on my phone and computer so that way I will be able to listen to music at all times. Since I'm on both throughout the day. On pandora people can share and comment what music they liked through facebook, which makes their digital presence more known if it wasn't already.
Orgization Is Key
Going down the hallway and blasting Pandora in my ears is the best feeling, reminiscing on songs my friends and I would dance to when we got together. Until I get to my classroom and always see one kid scrambling through their book bag to find homework. I was always the type of person that would frown on the kid in class who never had folders or binders. This helps me stay connected to technology by having textbooks both online and in class.
Team Iphone
Since I have one of the most popular phones in the world iphone users have the accessibility to pretty much anything. Toward the end of the class period and my book bag is packed up I will go on my phone to check messages, shop, and of course get back on instagram, making my digital presence more noticed. I have apps from my bank to games to online shopping. It's so easy and convenient to just unlock my phone and get full advantage of the social world.
Cheese!
While on my phone one day for dinner my 5 year old nephew recently lost his tooth and without thinking I took out my phone and took a picture. We were all so excited so I wanted to keep the memory forever. I ten put It on instagram so everyone else can be just as happy as we were. I never thought how any of this would affect his digital presence when he gets older.
Rise n Shine
We all told him once he wakes up in the morning the tooth fairy will leave him a present under his pillow. So he waited and waited, and finally the next morning comes and he had money under his pillow. My alarm clock is apart of my everyday technology because without it I would never be in school, and he would never get his present from the tooth fairy! Even though when the alarm does go off I could cry but it helps me alot more then I knew. I try to set it everyday but sometimes I forget. Normally while I'm sleeping is when i hear silence because everyone else in my house is also sleep.
Technology impacting My life
Because I'm around technology literally every second of my life it's pretty tough to admit to myself that I need to use it less. But since I pay for my pay for my own bill I feel as if I'm obligated to use it all the time. My main distraction on my phone is instagram. Just because there's something on there every minute I can't help but to just look. In the article, " Is a ban necessary," I completely agree with the professor because I do it and many of my classmates do it. But she should also realize having lap tops in the classroom does benefit us as well. College student or not.
