Shelters for Survival

By: Marcus Reihman

The Importance of Shelters.

Shelters protect you from the elements (rain, snow, sleet, hail, etc) and keeps you warm. Mentally speaking a shelter is the most helpful, giving you a "home-like" feeling and allows you a safe place to sleep. A shelter, after food and water, is the next priority, and in some cases it is first priority. (extreme cold) A shelter only has to be big enough to accomodate you comfortably. As you can see below safety and security are needed. A shelter provides both. A shelter should be built close to food and water to make it most efficient.
