Greetings
The month of January is an important time of the year for middle school students. January 27 marked the end second marking period. We have completed half of the school year and are now in the third marking period. One of our core values is to engage with you as partners. You are the experts on your child(ren), and we want to work in collaboration with you to ensure that your child is best positioned for success. As we continue to progress with the school year, please take advantage of the opportunities made available to conference with your child's teachers, school counselor, and support staff. We also encourage you to attend the PTA meetings. Each month, a different guest shares valuable information about our school and the district. Please do not hesitate to connect with a member of our school staff whenever you need assistance.

About the PAVE Program:
The PAVE program, begun in 1999, is an intensive four-year program for students excited about the arts. Many students completing our PAVE program have established successful careers in the arts. Those who did not pursue the arts as a career report that their time in the PAVE program helped them develop the necessary skills to succeed in their chosen career path.
It is equally valuable for interested students in all academic situations: from students with challenging academic course loads who wish to develop their creative talents to those who show promise and interest in the arts but need a little extra motivation to attend all their scheduled classes. It is a wonderful way to nurture and showcase talented students to the district and the greater community. Click Here for the Application

The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a new Superintendent. Part of the search efforts includes a Citizens Advisory Committee. The Citizens Advisory Committee will provide vital insights to the evaluation process. Members will be asked to attend presentations by the finalists for the superintendent position. Those presentations are tentatively scheduled for March 2. The group will comprise approximately 100 individuals -- 50% school district stakeholders appointed by the Board of Education and 50% by lottery, if community demand exceeds the number of spots available.
