OLLV Catholic School
2021-2022
Be it known to all who enter here, that Christ is the reason for this school. He is the unseen, but ever present teacher in the classrooms, the model of its faculty, and the inspiration of its students.

School-Wide Learning Expectation of The Week: Responsible Citizens Who Help And Take Care of Others
This week will emphasize the importance of being kind and helping take care of our friends around us.
WCEA School Accreditation Update
Other results point to a positive school environment with 94% expressing that the morale of students in the school is good, and 99.5% who feel that their children are safe here. Respondents felt that the school's communication with parents is exceptional with 91.5% reading this weekly school newsletter and 92% feeling well-informed of the school activities.
More highlights from the parent survey will be continued to be shared in weekly Angel Notes.
This WCEA workday on Friday, October 15th will be spent looking at the feedback given in surveys.
Calendar Update: In order to further prepare for WCEA accreditation, Friday, November 5th will be another WCEA Work Day instead of a half day.
Pumpkin Drive
The Student Council will be collecting pumpkins from October 13-18th for Berkley Bunker Title I School’s Kindergarten class, who weren't able to experience a field trip to the Gilcrease Orchard this year.
The Berkley Bunker Title I school will be holding a Harvest Festival soon, and we have the chance to give children their very own pumpkin to decorate!
When an OLLV student donates a pumpkin, they will receive a pumpkin sticker to put into their class’s “patch.” The classes (PreK-4th and 5th-8th) with the most pumpkins donated will receive 30 minutes of extra recess for their class!
We will be accepting small and medium pumpkins, please do not bring large ones!
Youth Soccer Challenge Competition
All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for 2021 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. The local competition will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 3:30 – 5:00 PM on the OLLV Soccer Field. In the event of inclement weather an alternate date is set for Wednesday, October 20, 2017, 3:30 – 5:30 PM on the OLLV Soccer Field.
The Soccer Challenge consists of 15 penalty kicks (three practice kicks are given prior to the first completion kick). Points will be awarded depending upon the area of the scoring zones through which the ball passes. Normal rules of soccer regarding penalty kicks apply for all levels of competition. Penalty kick violations including stepping on or over the line prior to the kick, and any contact made with the ball counts as a kick.
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters in New Haven, CT, based on scores from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls 9 to 14 years-old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Entry forms for this event will be available at the competition site. For additional information contact: K of C Saint Jude Council #9102, SK Daniel Barry, phone 702-812-0015 or email danbarry@cox.net.
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal organization, with approximately 2 million members in over 15,000 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 70 million hours and $170 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their Church, communities, councils, Culture of Life, families and youth.
Please come to the front office to pick up your application and permission slip.
