Preschool News
Miss Courtney's Classroom
This week...
We danced to some jungle beats and used our rhythm sticks, egg shakers and even explored our jungle drums! We had fun making music together. We worked together with Miss Amanda this week (our O.T. who is in for Miss Kelly) to move our bodies like tree frogs, gorillas, tigers, parrots and elephants. Miss Amanda also brought in a zip lip ball game that everyone enjoyed taking turns to play.
We also released our butterflies this week during the p.m. preschool. It was exciting to observe the caterpillar to butterfly process and we can't wait to do it again!
Next week, we are going to continue to compare and contrast the different animals in the jungle. We will be working on categorizing different animals and learning new songs and jungle dances. We will be making our own rainsticks and binoculars as we become jungle explorers! There will even be a safari tent in class for a center next week. We will learn a lot and have fun too! We will also be getting the chance to see baby chicks. Mrs Strohl's class will be having a visit from a real farmer and we will get to be her special guests and visit with the chicks when they hatch.
A few reminders....
-Library books are due back on Tuesday of next week. Thank you!
-If anyone would like to donate fruit to class we could use some for smoothie time. (Don't go to too much trouble! It can be the extra banana at the end of the week that ends up on your counter.
-We are looking forward to our field trip to Storybook Land and will be talking about different nursery rhymes during story time. We will be acting out Jack be nimble, Hickory Dickory Dock, and Humpty Dumpty to name a few. Thank you for handing back your permission slips!
