Interactions of light
by Jasmine McGill
Materials that light can freely transmit all light through are known as transparent
Translucent:
Translucent materials transmit only part of the light. Some light passes through, but some do not.
Opaque:
Opaque materials do not allow any light to be transmitted through them
Opaque and Transparent are opposites. You CANNOT see anything through opaque items. While you can see everything through transparent items.
Translucent is when you can only partially see through an item. So obviously Translucent is in the middle between Opaque and Transparent.
An example of a opaque item would be a plastic cup. One that is like the one in the picture.
An example of a transparent item would be a glass. One that is like the one in the picture.
An example of a translucent item would be like a shower curtain.
