News From the Nurse
There is a student at school that has medical issues, which compromises the immune system. For the safety of the student, the teacher and school nurse need to be aware of any illness with a high fever and particularly influenza, chicken pox and Fifth's disease. Exposure to chicken pox could be life threatening.
While it is impossible to keep the classroom free of illness, early notification of illness and disease will ensure we can be proactive in the health care needs of the student.
This is a good time to reinforce with your child the importance of a good hand washing technique and to cover a cough and sneeze.
