Student Parking
Senior students have first priority for parking spaces. There are only 396 parking spots available. With that in mind, for the upcoming school year, the following procedures will be in place for the assignment of parking spaces:
- Parking in the student parking lot for the first 2 weeks or so will not be assigned and will be first come, first park.
- Starting on Wednesday, September 4, any Senior who would like to have a parking pass must fill out the following form and turn it in to Mr. Westhora in the front office or during both lunches. The form must be submitted by Friday, September 6 before school is over. Only Seniors with a valid driver's license and information about the make/model/license number for any car they might drive to school can apply for a parking pass.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jZ92ThQ1zuXD9CMZmX3zYb0l9WInen695kqUOjMXM4k/edit?usp=sharing - Starting on Tuesday, September 10, all Seniors who submitted their parking application form will then be allowed to purchase their parking pass and will be assigned a parking spot during both lunches. The cost of a parking permit for this school year will be $20, which is in line with other high schools in the area. All parking permits will be attached to a specific numbered parking space.
- Starting on Thursday, September 12, depending on how many Seniors get an assigned parking spot, Juniors may submit a parking agreement form for a possible chance to get a spot as well. Juniors have until Friday, September 13 at the end of the school day to submit the form to Mr. Westhora in the main office or during both lunches. If there are not enough spots for all Juniors who apply, there will be a lottery selection process.
- Starting on Tuesday, September 17, all Juniors who submitted their parking application or were selected from a lottery process will then be allowed to purchase their parking pass and will be assigned a parking spot during both lunches.
- The start of enforcing assigned parking spaces will occur on Wednesday, September 18 after parking spaces have been assigned to Seniors and Juniors. Until that date, student parking will be on a first-come first-served basis, in areas that are specifically designated for student parking.
- Sophomores are not eligible for a parking space.
- Starting on September 18, a waiting list will begin for valid drivers who wish to have a spot in the near future.
Parking permits and spaces may be revoked by Westview at any time, for reasons including but not limited to: poor attendance, violation of student conduct policies, and others.
Parking and Traffic Flow
We want to make you aware of our current parking situation at Westview High School. Most neighborhoods surrounding Westview now have restricted parking on their streets. They have signs posted on their streets that say "No Parking Except By Permit." Please do not park in their neighborhoods to avoid ticket fees and/or potential towing.
Traffic flow before and after school can be chaotic. We would like to minimize the chaos as much as possible by establishing clear routes for drop-off and pick-up locations. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. The true secret to arriving to school on-time and with less traffic is arriving early.
The traffic route on the North-side is for drop-offs, and the other traffic route is on the South-side for student drivers. On the South-side, remember that students are parking and then walking to the building. We do not want any drop-offs happening here. Please do not drop off students on the South side. All Drop-offs should only happen on the North Side. Please follow the route on the map.
Parents and Students, please be kind, respectful, and follow all traffic and parking rules when driving and parking on school grounds.
For those who are wanting to purchase a parking permit, more information coming soon.
Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services information is easier to access this year, and we have lots of cool information to share!
Remember that the 30-day Rollover Period for 2018-2019 meal benefits will end in early October. Be sure to apply TODAY so your students don’t have a lapse in benefits. Any families whose students go into “Paid” status will be responsible to pay for all meals charged in school cafeterias. Don’t let this happen to you!!
Click on the link below to go to SchoolCafe, and see all the things that you can do:
https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/departments/nutrition-services/meals/schoolcafe
All you need is your student’s ID number. If you don’t have that, you can call your school office
or the Meal Benefits line (503-356-3957). Here are some of your options in SchoolCafe:
- Create an account
- Apply for Meal Benefits
