DAVIS HILL COMMUNITY UPDATE
September 27, 2021
I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend and the return of the sun! There is new information in all sections of the update this week... so please make sure to read through the entire update! Community Flyers (i.e. Soccer/ Lacrosse/Girl Scouts Information/ Etc.) is included in the bottom 'Community Section' when I am asked to attach flyers.

Reminder that WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th is our first Professional Development Day/ Half-Day of the year. Dismissal will be at 12:30.

Next Steps For Art
Mrs. Kackley is a certified Visual Arts and Instructional Technology Teacher who for the last five years has been working in the Grafton Public School system. Mrs. Kackley has put in her notice in Grafton and she will (hopefully) be joining Davis Hill on Tuesday, October 12th. In the meantime, we'll try to maintain as much consistency as possible via substitute in Art until Mrs. Kackley joins us on the 12th.
Our DHDragons should have brought home a flyer this week with information; however, if that information didn't make it out of the backpack... the Book Fair will be located outside of Davis Hill in front foyer area at the following times:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 4:30-7:00PM
If you can't make it to school, but you would like to support the Book Fair (Funds help pay for Scholastic Magazines for students/ Books for Classrooms) you may also shop via the Scholastic Website (See the button below).

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HALF-DAY ON WEDNESDAY
The cafeteria will be providing Grab n' Go bag lunches at dismissal time for students on all scheduled early release days. Pre-orders will be taken in your child's first class of the morning for students who will be requesting a lunch on half-days.

We respectfully request that all afternoon office dismissals (when they are required) occur prior to 3:10. The reason for this request is that it is difficult to balance end-of-the-day needs and the upcoming school-wide dismissal in the office. The office is considered 'closed' from 3:15-3:45 during the dismissal period.
POLICY REVIEW/ LOST ARTICLES*
The school will not assume responsibility for any items (brought to school by students), which are lost or stolen. A Lost and Found area is maintained in the cafeteria. On a monthly basis, unclaimed clothing will be donated. Pupils are encouraged to turn in any article found to the Lost and Found Area. Items coming to school, including lunch boxes, book bags, coats, hats, boots, and mittens should be clearly labeled with the student's first and last name.
*We respectfully request that students do not bring toys/ cards (Pokemon/ etc.)/ stuffed animals or personal possessions from home. These items can easily become lost, damaged or be ‘traded’ with friends.
CHANGES IN ROUTINE DISMISSAL:
If you have a change in dismissal routine, please make sure to write a note to your child's teacher.
If there is a change in dismissal necessary that occurs during the school day- the school office must receive a phone call. Thank you!
DON'T FORGET THE HEALTH-ASSESSMENT EVERYDAY
Update from WRSD Food Services
Wachusett Regional School District will be offering free lunch and breakfast (breakfast not currently available at DH. Looking to start in October) to all students through June 2022. Families do not need to complete the Free & Reduced Meal Application to receive these meals.
Families that may qualify for free or reduced fees (i.e. athletic fees , PSAT, SAT tests and college application fees) are encouraged to complete the form located on the WRSDschoolnutrition.com website to confirm eligibility.
Students wishing to purchase a second breakfast will be charged the regular purchase price of $2.25.
A second lunch will be charged the regular purchase price of $3.25 ($3.50 at WRHS).
Students bringing lunch from home may purchase milk for .60
Snacks and a la carte items are available for purchase in the cafeteria. Students must have funds available on their account or cash. IOUs are not permitted.
Please visit MySchoolBucks.com to set up an account for online payments to your child's lunch account.
