Mrs. Myerson's Classroom News - Week of January 11th
A Note from Mrs. Myerson
On Monday a project is being sent home that will be due this Friday, January 15th. Students will need to look at the Weather Forecast each day of this week and record the weather and temperature. Instructions are included on the front page of the project.
All Homework sent home this week is for review purposes and to emphasize skills being assessed this week.
Spelling Words: none
Sight Words: none (reviewing all learned sight words)
Phonics: final blends, inflectional endings, compound words
Grammar: Grammar Review (Commas in a Series, Singular and Plural Nouns, Identifying complete sentences, and using Articles (a, an, the)
Reading: Retelling a story (using Beginning, Middle and End), Visualizing
Writing: Writing How To's
Math: Telling Time to the Quarter Hour, Fact Power, Problem Solving
Science: Weather: Meteorologist, The Water Cycle and Clouds
Cold Read AA (students must read passages on their own and answer questions)
Sight Word Quiz
Running Records (assesses Reading Levels)
Benchmark Test (students are reading passages and answering comprehension, phonics and vocabulary questions)
Text to Text AA (comparing two texts from past stories)
10 Frame Model Match AA (Math)
