Research and Discovery

Teachers,

I have pulled several resources for 5th grade's research unit on Colonial America.

I know the other teams are also preparing for research and discovery units, so please let me know what topics I can pull and have readily available for you. I can also show you and your students how you can use your classroom computers and iPads to conveniently access our Light Box and other e-books

Read. Know. Grow.

Makerspace - Where Students can Create, Innovate, and Inspire!

Thanks to our fully funded Donors Choose project, our makerspace is now open!

  • Lego Creation Station- Students can create settings and write their own stories using Lego Story Kits, then use iPads to create an animated video.
  • Rainbow Looms - Students can design and make bracelets.
  • Duct Tape Craft Table - Students can use the project book as a guide to create items.
  • Coding Corner - Students are introduced to the concept of coding through free iPad apps.

Students will be able to enjoy our makerspace during their scheduled library elective time. Teachers, you may also schedule a 30-minute block of time for your class between the hours of 10:30am and 1:30pm, daily. You must stay with your students during this time.

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open."
