Essential Question: What were the most important parts of the beginning, middle, and end of the story? (This is a good question to ask when reading with your child.)
Comprehension Skill: Retell

Phonemic Awareness: Long vowel "a" using the silent e (-ake, -ame, -ate, -ale, -ane, -ave)
